71 of the 370 images I shot in 2010 for the 1984 photo project are on display in Foyles’ Charing Cross Road Cafe during December and January. Eleven images were shortlisted and selected by my Twitter & Flickr followers; the other 60 are of the first paragraph.
Foyles is one of my favourite places to work. The coffee is excellent, the vibe is mellow. They have wifi and plugs and are smack in the centre of town. I’m absolutely thrilled to be part of the environment for the next few months.
You can buy exhibition merch when you’re at Foyles – limited edition A2 prints of the 11 selected images, postcards of the exhibition images, and postcards of the most iconic phrase in the series, Big Brother Is Watching You (pack of 5). If you can’t make it to the cafe for a cuppa, you can also buy them at the etsy shop.
I’ll be hosting an Orwell-themed evening in the Foyles Cafe in late January in conjunction with the bookshop and The Orwell Prize, so keep your eyes open!
Visit the exhibition in the first floor cafe at Foyles, 113-119 Charing Cross Road, London WC2 0EB from now until the end of January 2012!
