The first episode of the radio adaptation of The Virtual Revolution is broadcasting on the World Service this morning at 10am GMT. It’s the first time that people around the world can (legally) access the whole programme, The Great Levelling (although a short version in vision is available with the BBC’s innovative 3D Documentary explorer).
The radio adaptation is part of the SuperPower series of special programmes.

That streaming version only seems to be twenty minutes long. Has it been trimmed for radio?
yup, it’s a 25 minute adaptation.
Just watching Episode 2 now. If I had to sum up the series in one word – inspiring.
Thanks Rik!
mike, i believe it will be a podcast in the Documentary channel of BBC World Service. Alternatively, you can listen on the player embedded in this post.
Can I just say this is one of the most intelligent, enjoyable and thorough enthralling series I have watched in years. It is nice to know that the BBC is still commuted to giving people like you the opportunity to make a ground breaking series. Fantastic presentation, fantastic analysis and all delivered in a way that was enjoyable and informative to experts and newcomers to tech alike. For once it was a TV programme that didn’t patronise the viewer but talked to them instead. Thank you!
I want to see more from you Aleks. If I had any influence I’d make you programme controller of the BBC. Well done to you and the whole team and all the contributors for proving that such great programme making still exists! More! Please…….
